Welcome to DACT Dance Classes!
We’re so excited to welcome you and your dancer to a new season of creativity, movement, and growth! We’re thrilled to have you as part of the DACT family.
Below are some important studio policies to help ensure a safe, respectful, and enjoyable experience for everyone:
Studio Policies
1. Attendance & Punctuality:
Consistent attendance is key to your dancer’s progress. Please arrive on time and notify us in advance if your dancer will miss class.
2. Dress Code:
Proper dance attire allows for safe movement and helps dancers focus during class. Please review the following dress guidelines by class:
PreK Ballet: Any color leotard, light pink tights, and pink ballet shoes. Hair must be in a bun.
Tap: Black leotard, pink tights, and black jazz shoes.
Jazz, Hip Hop, and Musical Theatre: Dancers should wear leggings or shorts that allow free movement (no flowing skirts or pants) and a fitted top (no oversized or flowy shirts).
Jazz: Jazz shoes required.
Hip Hop & Musical Theatre: Clean sneakers are acceptable. No Crocs or open-toed shoes are allowed.
3. Tuition:
Tuition is due on the first of every month, and statements will be sent out as a reminder. A $25 late fee will be added to any tuition paid after the 10th of the month.
4. Performances:
We will hold a showcase at the end of the fall semester and a spring recital to celebrate our dancers’ progress.
Costumes for the spring recital will be ordered in January for participating students.
5. Behavior Expectations:
We promote kindness, respect, and teamwork. Dancers are expected to treat instructors, classmates, and studio property with care and courtesy.
6. Parent Observations:
To reduce distractions, we ask that parents wait in designated areas during class unless otherwise invited for a special observation day.
7. Communication:
We send updates via email and post announcements on our website/social media. Please make sure we have your most current contact information.
8. Safety & Wellness:
If your dancer is sick or showing symptoms, please keep them home to rest. We also encourage handwashing before and after class.
9. Pick-Up & Drop-Off:
Dancers must be picked up promptly after class. If someone else is picking up your child, please notify us in advance.
10. Water Bottles:
Please send your dancer with a sealable water bottle labeled with their name. Water only, please—no juice or sports drinks in the studio.
11. Holidays & Closures:
We will not hold classes the week of Thanksgiving. DACT Dance follows AISD school closures for weather-related cancellations.
12. Photo Sharing:
If you take photos of your dancer in class or at performances, we kindly ask that you do not post any images that include other students, unless you have their parents' permission.
